SECONDARY EDUCATION IN HONG KONG
We were pleased to support the Hong Kong Association of Heads of Secondary Schools at a Colloquium to discuss some of the issues facing Hong Kong secondary school students. This was in partnership with the Yeh Family Philanthropy and Wyng Foundation.
We work with Zubin Foundation who have carried out important research in school provision for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children with special needs in Hong Kong.
We are funding work to identify gaps in the provision of kindergarten education for non-Chinese speaking children. We expect this to lead to an agreed curriculum to prepare NCS children for entry to Chinese speaking Primary schools.
We support a wide range of Hong Kong charities working in social welfare, education, playgroup provision and food support. Many of these organisations are supported by our Mission Possible organisation.
Mission Possible is a charity founded by Peter Bennett Foundation in 2013, running the first-ever Hong Kong Rugby Sevens CHARITY box with 100% of money raised going to local charities tackling poverty. With the help of the HKRFU and Holiday Inn, and many generous partners, sponsors and donors, Mission Possible has raised over 15 million HKD so far.
By bringing together individuals, corporate sponsors, and government, Mission Possible raises awareness for people in need in Hong Kong and creates a positive dialogue for addressing those needs.
IN VIETNAM we support Newborns Vietnam providing neonatal nurse training and medical education programmes developed and delivered in partnership with British higher education institutions and NHS teaching hospitals.
IN VIETNAM we work with Pacific Links Foundation (PALS) in counter-trafficking at the frontiers of Vietnam by increasing access to education, providing shelter and reintegration services, and enabling economic opportunities
SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN
Peter Bennett Foundation sponsors OneSky in China. OneSky develops affordable, scalable early childhood intervention models and trains caregivers to transform young lives. OneSky trains carers to work with children in orphanages, children in villages and with the children of factory workers. Today, OneSky’s model is China’s national standard for the care of institutionalized children.
IN CAMBODIA we support M’Lop Tapang in an extensive program of support to the community through vocational training, education and a variety of other services for families and children in need in Sihanoukville.
